I'm better at capturing random moments on my phone camera than at being able to sit down and write about all the things that the little man has been up to.
Its been 7 months and at this point all I can say about him is this:
He's a little peanut at 32 inches, 20 lbs. Yes, that's right. 20 lbs at 22 months. Part of me cringes when I think how tiny he is compared to other kids around his age. But I remind myself of these things-he's still learning quickly and progressing mentally, he's still growing albeit slower than others, he's still happy, he eats healthy (definitely healthier than I do!!), and being small still allows me to pick him up and hold and cuddle him without hurting my back. THAT. is a blessing.
He likes to read, he loves trains, he's stubborn and I swear if he knew more words he'd try to haggle with me at bedtime...
Me: Ok baby time for bed
Clay: ..Noo... (he says no in the cutest way possible so its really hard to not accept that answer)
Me: Yes. Time to sleep, come on.
Clay: Hmm...<finger to chin> how 'bout... (ps i know i say "how about...<insert preferred choice here>" but no idea where he learned the thinking pose)
Ok, kid. Seriously? Stop being so dang cute.

He only talks when he's in the mood but he does know a lot of words these days. Here's what he's been up to since MAY...gosh am I that horrible at updating this?

Funny story behind this one: I was getting ready for work and heard "bye bye" I responded with "bye bye? where are you going?" and turned around to this....he crawled up on my bed, grabbed my makeup bag and my wallet...took money out of my wallet, shoved it into my makeup bag and said "bye bye" Yup. I about died of laughter.

Went to Starved Rock. Wandered into the gift shop and grandma was suckered into buying him his "abby"
He really never had taken to a stuffed animal or anything...so he never took a 'lovey' til he found this one stuffed dog at the gift shop and wouldn't let go. |
